UNIT 1: PHYSICS AND MEASUREMENT

UNIT 2: KINEMATICS

The frame of reference, motion in a straight line, Position- time graph, speed and velocity, Uniform and non-uniform motion, average speed and instantaneous velocity, uniformly accelerated motion, velocity-time, position-time graph, relations for uniformly accelerated motion, Scalars and Vectors, Vector. UNIT 4: WORK, ENERGY, AND POWER

Work done by a constant force and a variable force; kinetic and potential energies, work-energy theorem, power.

The potential energy of spring conservation of mechanical energy, conservative and non-conservative forces; motion in a vertical circle: Elastic and inelastic collisions in one and two dimensions.

UNITS: ROTATIONAL MOTION

Centre of the mass of a two-particle system, Centre of the mass of a rigid body; Basic concepts of rotational motion, moment of a force, torque, angular momentum, conservation of angular momentum and its applications;
The moment of inertia, the radius of gyration, values of moments of inertia forsimple geometrical objects, parallel and perpendicular axes theorems, and their applications. Equilibrium of rigid bodies, rigid body rotation and equations of rotational motion, comparison of linear and rotational motions.

UNIT 6: GRAVITATION

The universal law of gravitation. Acceleration due to gravity and its variation with altitude and depth. Kepler's law of planetary motion. Gravitational potential energy, gravitational potential. Escape velocity, Motion of a satellite, orbital velocity, time period and energy of satellite.

UNIT 7: PROPERTIES OF SOLIDS AND LIQUIDS

Elastic behaviour, Stress-strain relationship, Hooke's Law. Young's modulus, bulk modulus, modulus of rigidity. Pressure due to a fluid column; Pascal's law and its applications. Effect of gravity on fluid pressure.
Viscosity. Stokes' law. terminal velocity, streamline, and turbulent flow.critical velocity Bemoulli's principle and its applications.

Surface energy and surface tension, angle of contact, excess of pressure across a curved surface, application of surface tension drops, bubbles, and capillary rise. Heat, temperature, thermal expansion; specific heat capacity, calorimetry, change of state, latent heat. Heat transfer-conduction, convection, and radiation.

UNIT 8: THERMODYNAMICS

Thermal equilibrium, zeroth law of thermodynamics, the concept of temperature. Heat, work, and internal energy. The first law of thermodynamics, isothermal and adiabatic processes.
The second law of thermodynamics: reversible and irreversible processes.

UNIT 9: KINETIC THEORY OF GASES
Equation of state of a perfect gas, work done on compressing a gas, Kinetic theory of gases -assumptions, the concept of pressure. Kinetic interpretation of temperature: RMS speed of gas molecules: Degrees of freedom. Law of equipartition of energy and applications to specific heat capacities of gases; Mean free path. Avogadro's number.

UNIT 10: OSCILLATIONS AND WAVES

Oscillations and periodic motion time period, frequency, displacement as a function of time. Periodic functions. Simple harmonic motion (S.H.M.) and its equation; phase: oscillations of a spring -restoring force and force constant: energy in S.H.M. Kinetic and potential energies; Simple pendulum - derivation of expression for its time period:

Wave motion. Longitudinal and transverse waves, speed of travelling wave. Displacement relation for a progressive wave. Principle of superposition of waves, reflection of waves. Standing waves in strings and organ pipes, fundamental mode and harmonics. Beats.

UNIT 11: ELECTROSTATICS

Electric charges: Conservation of charge. Coulomb's law forces between two point charges, forces between multiple charges: superposition principle and continuous charge distribution.
Electric field: Electric field due to a point charge, Electric field lines. Electric dipole, Electric field due to a dipole. Torque on a dipole in a uniform electric field.

Electric flux. Gauss's law and its applications to find field due to infinitely long uniformly charged straight wire, uniformly charged infinite plane sheet, and uniformly charged thin spherical shell. Electric potential and its calculation for a point charge, electric dipole and system of charges; potential difference, Equipotential surfaces, Electrical potential energy of a system of two point charges and of electric dipole in an electrostatic field.
Conductors and insulators. Dielectrics and electric polarization, capacitors and capacitances,, the combination of capacitors in series and parallel, capacitance of a parallel plate capacitor with and without dielectric medium between the plates. Energy stored in a capacitor.

UNIT 12: CURRENT ELECTRICITY

Electric current. Drift velocity, mobility and their relation with electric current.. Ohm's law. Electrical resistance.. V-1 characteristics of Ohmic and non-ohmic conductors. Electrical energy and power. Electrical resistivity and conductivity. Series and parallel combinations of resistors, Temperature dependence of resistance.

Internal resistance, potential difference and emf of a cell, a combination of cells in series and parallel. Kirchhoff's laws and their applications. Wheatstone bridge. Metre Bridge.

UNIT 13: MAGNETIC EFFECTS OF CURRENT AND MAGNETISM

Biot Savart law and its application to current carrying circular loop. Ampere's law and its applications to infinitely long current carrying straight wire and solenoid. Force on a moving charge in uniform magnetic and electric fields.

Force on a current-carrying conductor in a uniform magnetic field. The force between two parallel currents carrying conductors-definition of ampere. Torque experienced by a current loop in a uniform magnetic field: Moving coil galvanometer, its sensitivity, and conversion to ammeter and voltmeter.

Current loop as a magnetic dipole and its magnetic dipole moment. Bar magnet as an equivalent solenoid, magnetic field lines, Magnetic field due to a magnetic dipole (bar magnet) along its axis and perpendicular to its axis. Torque on a magnetic dipole in a uniform magnetic field. Para-dia- and ferromagnetic substances with examples, effect of temperature on magnetic properties.

Section-I (General Queries)

What is NEET (UG)?

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) (UG) is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) since 2019 with the approval of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (which is now known as the Ministry of Education), in pursuance of the direction of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India vide Judgement dated 22.11. 2018 in C.A. No. 11230 of 2018 in the matter of CBSE Vs. T.K. Rangarajan & Ors. (Para 22).

What is the responsibility of NTA for NEET (UG) - 2026?

The NEET (UG) - 2026 is going to be conducted by NTA as per the Schedule given in the Information at a Glance for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS Courses as per the relevant norms/guidelines/regulations notified by the concerned Regulatory Bodies of the Indian System of Medicine in all Medical Institutions governed under this Act.
The responsibility of NTA is limited to inviting online applications, the conduct of the entrance test, declaration of the result, and providing All India Rank (AIR) to the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

When will the Online Application form for NEET (UG) - 2026 be available on the website?

The Online Application Form for NEET (UG) - 2026 is available from 06.03.2026 to 06.04.2026 (up to 09:00 PM) on the website https://neet.nta.nic.in/.

When will NEET (UG) - 2026 Examination be conducted?

Date of Examination: 07 May 2026 (Sunday) Duration of Examination: 02:00 PM to 05:20 PM (Indian Standard Time)

Whether the examination will be offline or online?

NEET (UG) - 2026 is a Pen & Paper-based Test, that needs to be answered on the specially designed machine gradable OMR sheet using Ball Point Pen.

How to fill up the 'Online' Application Form for NEET(UG)-2026?
Are there any guidelines for the students before filling out the application form?

Yes, instructions to apply online for NEET (UG) - 2026 are available in the Information Bulletin under the heading Important Information at Glance'.

Is Thumb Impression mandatory while filling NEET (UG)-2026 Application?

Candidates need to upload their both Left and Right hands impression of Fingers and thumbs as per Appendix-XIX in the online Application Form of NEET (UG) - 2026.

What should I do, if ‘continuous timeout’ or ‘file not found error’ occurs while filling the online Application Form of NEET (UG)- 2026?

Use an updated version of Google Chrome/Mozilla Firefox and a good internet connection while filling out the Application Form. In case of continuous-time out clear cookies and history of the browser and fill in off-peak hours.

Can Candidates require to send/submit any document(s) including Confirmation Page to NTA through Post/ Fax/ By Hand?

Candidates are not required to send/submit any document(s) including Confirmation Page to NTA through Post/Fax/WhatsApp/Email/by Hand

Is it mandatory to upload GENEWS, SC, ST,OBC-NCL, and PwBD certificates?

Yes, GEN-EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD candidates are required to upload original certificates as per prescribed formats issued by the Competent Authority of their respective State. In case, any candidate does not have the certificate readily available with him/her, he/she can upload the self undertaking as available in the Information Bulletin.

Will NTA reserve its discretion to fix the center in a city which is given in Appendix-V?

As far as possible, the exam centres are allotted as per the choice of cities of the candidates made in their online Application form.
Though every effort will be made to allot a Centre in one of the cities selected by the candidate, the NTA reserves the right to allot a centre in a city other than the candidate’s choice.
Allotment of Centres will be done mostly in one of the preferred cities of the candidates and there will be no human intervention.

Can a center be allotted by the NTA manually?

No.

In case, the Candidate has uploaded a Blue Signature instead of a Black Signature in the application form of NEET (UG) - 2026. Is it okay?

No, your Application Form will not be rejected merely for this mistake.

Can the Candidate correct/change his/her particulars including the City of Exam Centre in the Online Application Form?

As per the instructions given to the candidates for filling up their Online Application Form, they are supposed to fill up their particulars in the same care and NTA is not responsible for any mistake committed by them in this regard. Can anyone cancel the application submitted for NEET (UG) - 2026?

Online Application forms once submitted successfully cannot be cancelled/ withdrawn.

Can anyone submit the multiple Application forms with the same mobile no. and Email ID?

For each Application, the e-mail address and Mobile Number will be unique.

Is it mandatory to fill in the Parents/Guardian Income Details?

Yes, Family Annual Income (inclusive of Father’s/ Guardian’s Gross Annual Income, Mother’s/ Guardian’s Gross Annual Income, and Annual Income of Father’s/ Mother’s/ Guardian’s from other sources, if any) and it is a mandatory field

How will the Candidate get the Confirmation Page of the NEET (UG) - 2026?

The Confirmation Page of the online Application Form will be generated only after successful payment of the fee by the Candidate. A copy of the Confirmation Page of NEET (UG) - 2026 will be sent to the registered e-mail address of the Candidates.

If one does not get Admit Card, whom should be contacted?

The Candidates may please note that Admit Cards will not be sent by post. The candidate has to download the Admit Card from the NTA website https://neet.nta.nic.in/. For any assistance, candidates can call the NTA Helpline numbers: 011 40759000 or 011 69227700 or write to NTA at: neet@nta.ac.in

Can a candidate change the examination center after the allotment of roll number?

City of allotted Examination Centre cannot be changed, in any case.
Choice of Centre Cities will be limited to the State of Permanent Address or State of Present Address only.

All candidates are required to upload address proof (Present and permanent address) during the online Application Form of NEET (UG) 2026. The address proof may include AADHAAR Card, Domicile Certificate, Passport, Voter ID card, etc. Both documents (if applicable) are to be merged and uploaded in a single pdf file. If the Present and Permanent addresses are same, then the same document will suffice.

What documents need to be uploaded during the online application form?

Candidate has to upload the scanned images of the following in JPG/PDF format only, for uploading the same as part of the submission of his/her online application:

• Latest Passport size Photograph in JPG format (size: 10 kb to 200 kb)
• Post Card size photograph (4" X 6") in JPG format (Size: 10 kb - 200 kb)
• Signature in JPG format (size: 4 kb to 30 kb)
• Left and Right Hands Fingers impressions in JPG format (file size: 10 kb to 200 kb). Format for Left & Right hands impression to capture both hand impressions of the candidate for NEET 2026.
• Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS etc.) in PDF format (file size: 50 kb to 300 kb)
• PwBD certificate in PDF format (file size: 50 kb to 300 kb)
• Embassy/Citizenship certificate in PDF format (file size: 50 kb to 300 kb)
• Class X passed certificate in PDF format (file size: 50 kb to 300 kb).
• The size of address proof of present address and permanent address in PDF format should be between 50 kb to 300 kb (clearly legible).

What do the candidates need to bring to the exam center?

The candidate will be required to bring the following to the Examination Centre:

Additional passport size photograph same as uploaded on Application Form, which you need to paste on Attendance Sheet

One Postcard size (4"X6") color photograph affixed on the designated space (page 2) downloaded from the NTA website (a clear print out on A4 size paper) with white background should be pasted on the Proforma downloaded with the Admit Card and should be handed over to Invigilator at the Centre duly filled in

Any Valid Photo Identification Proof issued by the government" - PAN card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/12th Class Board Admit or Registration card/ Passport/Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/ E-Aadhaar/Ration Card/Aadhaar Enrolment No. with Photo. All other ID/Photocopies of IDs even if attested/scanned photo of IDs in mobile phone will NOT be considered as valid ID Proof),

Personal transparent water bottle.

Note: Candidate who does not bring the downloaded proforma with postcard size (4"X6") photograph pasted and one passport size photograph will not be allowed to sit in the examination and shall lead to

Is there any Negative Marking in the NEET (UG) - 2026?

There is negative marking in both Sections i.e. Section A and Section B.

What is the duration/timing/shift of NEET (UG) - 2026

How will one know the result of the NEET (UG) - 2026?

The result of NEET (UG) - 2026 will be uploaded on the NTA website www.nta.ac.in and https://neet.nta.nic.in/ as per schedule. However, a copy of the Scorecard of NEET (UG) – 2026 will be sent to the registered e-mail address of the Candidates.

Section - II Eligibility Criteria

What is the minimum eligibility criteria/qualification for appearing in NEET (UG) - 2026?

The students who have received education abroad and wish to seek admission into medical colleges in India must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English with 50% marks in class 12 and their equivalency determined by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as per regulations of the Medical Council of India and the concerned University.

Is a candidate who has passed class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English subjects from NIOS, eligible to appear for NEET (UG) - 2026?

Candidates who have passed Class 12 from Open School or as private candidates shall not be eligible to appear for the 'National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test'. Furthermore, a study of Biology/Biotechnology as an Additional Subject at Class 12 level also shall not be permissible.*
*The candidates who have passed Class 12 level with Biology as an additional subject will also be eligible for MBBS Entrance Examination (as per Hon'ble High Court Order No. 2341/-W/DHC/WRIT/D-1/2019 dated 24/09/2019 in the Writ Petition (C) No. 6773/2019.

What are the Qualifications to appear in the Test?

To be eligible for NEET (UG) -2026, candidates need to refer to the Qualifications and Qualifying Examination Codes mentioned in Para 5.4, chapter 5 of the Information Bulletin of NEET (UG) -2026.
Those candidates who have passed class XII should fill Code [02 to 07] against the column provided for the Qualifying Examination. If a candidate does not fall within the qualifications prescribed as per Code numbers 02 to 07, then the candidate needs to furnish complete details under the column 'others'.
Candidates appearing in Class 12 in 2026 should select a qualifying code as 01.

What are the age limit/relaxation criteria for the candidates appearing in NEET (UG) - 2026?

Eligibility for appearing in NEET (UG) is as per related Regulations is as follows: -
i. Lower Age limit: He/she has completed the age of 17
years at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year Undergraduate Medical Courses.
ii. Upper Age limit: As per Letter No. U-11022/2/2022-UGMEB, dated 09 March 2022 received from National Medical Commission (NMC), Under Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) regarding the upper age limit, there is no upper age limit.

What will be the medium of the Question paper?

Medium of Question Paper:
Candidates opting for English/Hindi/Regional Languages would be provided Test Booklet in English + Hindi + selected Regional Language.
For Example: If a candidate opted Tamil (out of 13 languages), the Test Booklet would be provided in English + Hindi + Tamil.

Whether the NEET (UG) - 2026 will be held in a different medium?

Yes, drawing from the National Education Policy (NEP), the NEET (UG) - 2026 will be conducted in Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu in addition to Hindi and English.

Does NTA have an exemption for the Divyangjan candidates?

Yes.

How can one remit fee for NEET (UG) - 2026?

The examination fee for NEET (UG) - 2026 can be remitted in the following manner:
any Debit/Credit/UPI Card using SBI/Canara/HDFC/ICICI/ on-line gateway payment facility/Through Net Banking.
